Zoomlion Claims World's Most Powerful Tractor with 1,600-hp 9DX Hybrid
Zoomlion unveiled a 1,600-horsepower hybrid tractor, the 9DX, in Changsha, pairing a 7,200-Nm drivetrain with a 636 l/min hydraulic system as it signed dealers from 20-plus countries.
Market notes
- Zoomlion unveiled the 1,600-hp 9DX hybrid tractor on Oct. 26, 2026, calling it the world's most powerful tractor.
- The 9DX delivers 7,200 Nm peak torque via an 800-volt dual-motor hybrid CVT and 636 l/min hydraulic flow.
- More than 230 partners attended Zoomlion's 2027 Global Dealer Conference in Changsha on Oct. 28.
- Partners from more than 20 countries, including Spain, Türkiye, Australia, Brazil and Egypt, signed commercial agreements.

Zoomlion unveiled a 1,600-horsepower hybrid tractor on Oct. 26 at the 2026 China International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, a peak-output figure the Changsha-based manufacturer describes as the most powerful of any tractor in the world. The 9DX targets sustained, heavy-duty fieldwork on very large farms, and its launch anchored a week in which Zoomlion also hosted more than 230 international partners at its 2027 Global Agricultural Machinery Dealer Conference.
The release, dated Oct. 30, 2026, positions the machine against the heaviest tillage and seeding passes. Peak torque reaches 7,200 newton-meters, delivered through a high-horsepower hybrid continuously variable transmission paired with an 800-volt dual-motor coupling system. Zoomlion developed the digital chassis, core components and control systems in-house rather than sourcing them from outside suppliers.
What does the tractor offer large-scale growers?
Hydraulic flow of 636 liters per minute supports wide seeders, large tillage equipment and variable-rate fertilizer applicators on a single platform. A four-track drive system rides on proprietary 762-millimeter-wide tracks, a design choice aimed at reducing surface soil compaction — a yield-relevant factor for operations running heavy implements across the same ground each season. The cab is fully suspended with independent suspension to dampen the ride during long passes.
For context, that hydraulic capacity and torque rating place the 9DX well beyond the horsepower classes that dominate row-crop fleets in North America and Europe, where tractors above 700 horsepower remain uncommon outside dedicated tillage duty.
The 9DX expands Zoomlion's hybrid agricultural machinery portfolio. At the exhibition the company also displayed intelligent machinery and implements, precision farming technologies, software platforms and smart hardware, showing how equipment and digital tools operate together in the field.
How is Zoomlion building its dealer network?
On Oct. 28, more than 230 partners from around the world gathered at Zoomlion Smart Industry City in Changsha for the dealer conference. Chairman and CEO Zhan Chunxin told attendees that agricultural machinery is one of the company's most important strategic businesses.
"Drawing on its strengths in technology, manufacturing, management and supply chains, Zoomlion provides global markets with equipment and operating solutions covering the full agricultural cycle," the company said, spanning tillage and planting through crop management, harvesting and storage.
Overseas partners toured intelligent factories and agricultural machinery testing laboratories, watched equipment and autonomous operation demonstrations, and visited production bases in Kaifeng and Changde. Test drives of tractors and rice harvesters allowed hands-on evaluation and technical exchange. Dealers and distributors from more than 20 countries — including Spain, Türkiye, Australia, Brazil and Egypt — signed commercial agreements with Zoomlion during the event.
Zhan said the company would build on its strengths to deliver better products, services and support, further develop its industry ecosystem, and work with customers and partners to expand opportunities for growth. That strategy, branded "High-End, International, and New Energy," signals continued investment in hybrid and electric drivetrains alongside international market development.
Zoomlion has not yet disclosed pricing, launch markets or delivery timelines for the 9DX, details large-scale buyers will need before the 1,600-horsepower claim translates into field adoption.
